Merry Christmas 2009!

The Allen family had a wonderful and blessed Christmas. We got to spend lots of time with family and friends. Emily received lots of wonderful, thoughtful gifts and really got into the spirit of the season this year. She welcomed Santa into her house better than I thought that she would. She fell in love with the movie The Polar Express, she rod the train at the mall, loved looking at Christmas lights always exclaiming," so beautiful!" as she would see a display that she liked. I would say out of all of her nice thoughtful gifts this Christmas she liked her Dora umbrella the best and keeps walking around the house saying, "it's raining, need umbrella"! And proceeds to open and shut the umbrella all over the house multiple times a day. We are still waiting on our biggest present of all. Baby boy Allen will soon be making his appearance mid February and I am positive Emily is going to be a great big sister.

Fall Fun 2009

Emily's 2nd Birthday!

Emily's birthday was a huge success. It was a beautiful day and many family members could join us for her special day. Her MeeMa made her a very special Minnie Mouse cake and even a special personal cake for her as well. She got two fish from her Uncle Jack and Uncle Jerry. Sadly those fish didn't make it to the next morning, oops! She was blessed with many other special toys, books and games, everything a two year old could want and more. She again very gracefully ate her cake, taking care not to get too dirty. Happy Birthday Emily! You are a very special girl and we love you very much!

Zoo 2009

We decided to take a family trip to the zoo. We had to dress warm though as the temperature was in the 60's, so jackets were a necessity. Not usual for the zoo in late August. Emily had a lot of fun and enjoyed walking around the zoo, she didn't want to sit in her stroller much so she was really able to see all of the exhibits up close. I think her favorite animals to watch this trip were the penguins.

Children's Museum

To say Emily loved this museum would be the understatement of the year. We only got to stay for a couple hours because we attended the zoo in the morning and then took a nap and then headed to the museum for a few hours before it closed. Emily had a blast, we are already planning our next trip and will allow for a whole day to visit this museum.
