What a wonderful Spring Break!!! Emily and I had so much fun this last week. We enjoyed the weather and being outside everyday. I am sad as I write this that we have to go back to work and daycare tomorrow. I remind myself that Summer isn't that far away.
Nate and I will use this blog to share information about our family. We welcomed Emily Claire into our family on September 4, 2007 and Blake Henry on February 25, 2010 and we couldn't be happier!

Spring Break 2009
What a wonderful Spring Break!!! Emily and I had so much fun this last week. We enjoyed the weather and being outside everyday. I am sad as I write this that we have to go back to work and daycare tomorrow. I remind myself that Summer isn't that far away.
Pancakes with Papa
Emily spent Saturday morning with her Papa. He has been working in Kansas since January so it was nice for her to get to spend some time with him. We started out our morning by going to a pancake fundraiser at our local fire station. Then we went to the park for a little play time. After Emily was done playing, we went with Papa out to his company's workshop. Emily had so much fun running around in such a huge space. We were only there for 10 minutes but she still managed to get into everything. She topped off her day with a pretend ride on her Papa's newly restored Ford tractor.

Balloon Museum
Emily has had an obsession with balloons since late last Summer. Since we are so fortunate to live in the town that we do, we see hot-air balloons all the time. As a result, Emily loves to look at them in the sky, and in her books at home. I thought taking her to the balloon museum would be a fun experience. She seemed to have a blast. We can't wait until Summer so we can take her to the balloon field!

Happy St. Patrick's Day
What a wonderful St. Patrick's Day! We spent some time in the backyard as the temperature reached 77 degrees. Emily loves to run from one side of the yard to the other. Roxie and Riley love to play with Emily too. Although Riley gets really excited and will jump on Emily and knock her on her bottom. As you can imagine Emily gets upset and says, "No Riley"! But Riley and Emily have really become good playmates. Roxie who is our older, more prissy dog is just as happy to be left alone.
The Zoo
We visited the zoo for the first time this year. We couldn't pass up such a beautiful day and decided to spend part of it at the zoo. We met up with Aunt Carolyn and cousins Michelle, Melanie, Gracie and Jake while there. Melanie did a great job helping Emily navigate the playground at the zoo. That of course was Emily's favorite part. Emily let us know how she felt about each of the animals. We walked up to the penguins and she said No No! and then Bye Bye! She did like watching the goats and llamas. It seems animals with fur she is ok with. Most things she will call a puppy. We keep practicing zoo animal names in the books we read. Farm animals she has down pretty well. Zoo animals we still need to practice. We plan to spend lots of time at the zoo this spring and summer so hopefully that will help her understand there are no puppies at the zoo!!!
A Trip to Tanger Outlet
We headed over to Tanger Outlet Mall for our annual Spring shopping trip. This year Emily enjoyed playing and riding the rides with Nana while I shopped. She loves to walk and insisted on walking all over the mall. The only reason we needed the stroller was to carry all of our bags. We always have such great luck shopping there and now Emily is all ready for Spring with a new wardrobe.

18 Months!!!!
Emily has been sick again with another ear infection so we have been spending lots of time indoors. We can't wait for warmer weather to get here so Emily can play outside. With the sneak peek of warm weather we had last week I know we will be outside a lot. Emily cried when it was time to come in. We go to the doctor tomorrow for Emily's 18 month well check. I am excited to see Emily's growth. Now if we could just kick these ear infections.
